The goonies, the monkey and aleloop

So I’ve been kind of lazy posting in the blog because I’ve been soo busy doing lots of things. Last night I saw the movie Julia/Julie and inspired me to start writing more often. Fun movie. Light and interesting about the Julia Childs, which I didn’t know before. Liked it. So let’s see if I can post at least once a week!

Today my pop surrealist art is in two openings and in the paper!!! One is at Lunar Boy Gallery. It’s the Goonies Show, for the 25th anniversary of the movie. There is a big celebration in Astoria, the town where the movie was shot. And it looks like a great pop art show! Already a bunch of pieces of the show have sold!!

So this is “The Goonies Saved” an 11×14 acrylic painting. I took one of the famous posters of the movie and made my own version of it, with my characters. But I added my beloved bees to come to their rescue and not fall into the cave.

Oh here is the link to the an article on the paper about my pop surrealist art. Written by Colleen Dougher for a paper here in South Florida called City Link.

And here is the link to the other art show I’m in tonight at Blu Moon Studio of Art, where I learned my acrylics!!.

At Blu Moon I’ll be showing a bunch of pieces, one original and 3 original giclee canvas giclee prints.
