Even though I’ve been creating, designing, illustrating forever, it has mainly been digital. I’m really enjoying painting with acrylics and this is my first non digital acrylics painting commissioned by a very special girl. Meet her below with her jungle of cartoon characters:
We rescued a doggie last Friday right in front of the marina. And… he ended up staying with us. His name is Minidog. My cats are slowly getting used to him, but still hissing at him a lot. We took him in the boat to the sandbar (with life jacket! hahaha) and he took a swim for the first time in his life. Here is him jumping from the boat and the amazing sunny octopuses (animated octopus cartoon characters) that were swimming with us in the ocean:
In this video I talk about the importance of keeping a video library, how it can help any illustrator, designer, motion graphics artist, motion designer, animator or broadcast designer save a lot of time when getting new projects with quick turns arounds. I shot it at the beautiful Biltmore Hotel, here in Coral Gables during a weekend retreat to plan the rest of the year (I know! so much work, but it was great!)
Today, my friend Luz is doing an inventory of what I have left from the first run of hand screenprinted t-shirts and underwear to put up for sale in my new Etsy store!! I just signed up with Etsy!
Below you can see pics from the catalog shoot we did a few months ago with my super photographer friend Mat Schwarz. Most of the models are from my swim team here in Miami! Working with friends in something you love is the BEST!
Just finished new original art. This is a digital illustration gyclee printed on canvas. I’m doing a series of illustration without characters. I’m not sure where these are coming from in my imagination, they kind of don’t look like made by me, but they are inside of me too. It’s a series about nature, women and the elements. I started drawings these right after I recovered from being so sick for so many months together with the characters. And now I’m finally finishing them up. I put them up in my aleloop art store in ImageKind if you want one.
In this video I talk about how to get inspiration in those moments where you are out of design ideas, your head is blank and you just can’t get inspired.
After years of experience designing for a living I came up with this technique of getting inspiration for my color palette very quickly and effectively without having to travel very far away or pull my hair out!

I was interviewed in national TV by Univision’s “Despierta America” morning news show about my cartoon character t-shirt called “Bring Out Your Happy”. I think the reporter represented very well the super fun spirit of my tees and my characters , their stories printed on the back and the music that comes with it. Great piece! Thank you Despierta America!!
