In this ‘animated’ interview Jonathan LeVine talks about pop surrealism, art basel, his gallery and the show “Urban Alchemists” at Wynwood Walls in Miami featuring artists Jeff Soto, Dalek, Mars 1, and many more. The show was wonderful! Be prepared to be surprised with some interesting characters of mine!
During Art Basel 2010, at Scope I interviewed the wonderful Sherri of the Corey Helford Gallery – http://coreyhelfordgallery.com. In the interview she explains some the amazing art at their booth. They represent lot of my favorite artists including Ray Caesar, Kukula, Shag, Buff Monster, Coop, Luke Chue, Ron English, Natalia Fabia, D*face, Sylvia Ji and many more. The music playing in the video is by the awesome LA band Black Charro ( they sponsor my Chihuahuas in Space tee shirts. )
I really enjoyed seeing the art at their beautiful booth at Scope. Thank you Sherri!!

This is my first Comic!! I always wanted to create a comic strip with my cartoon characters!!! And today I did it!!!!
I’m planning in publishing it once a week, so either subscribe to my newsletter or my blog to read it weekly. The characters in the strip will vary, sometimes is going to be these two cats, but I’ll be also drawing my dogs and other creatures. The theme of the comic strip is whatever is happening in the world, in my life and I see a fit for funny~!

On the works is also an animated comic with my Chihuahuas In Space cartoon characters. It’s takes a while to animate a full episode, so stay tuned!

So last night’s art show opening at Blu Moon when great! Even though it rained elephants the turn out was great. Lots of people. We shot a bunch of videos that I’ll upload in the next few days. And I met a few fans of my pop surrealist art at the event that had seen my article on the paper! That was amazing!!! It felt so good!
Oh oh, and I haven’t mentioned I’m one of the artists painting Wizys for the Custom Wizy Gallery Tour 2010 that starts in September!! Look below the first video promo they did for the tour!
This is going to be my first Custom Toy show ever!! And Wizard Sleeve Toys is trying to get my Wizy for the Florida SuperCon Comic Book Convention June 18-20, so I can show it in my Artist Table at the Con~!!
So I’ve been kind of lazy posting in the blog because I’ve been soo busy doing lots of things. Last night I saw the movie Julia/Julie and inspired me to start writing more often. Fun movie. Light and interesting about the Julia Childs, which I didn’t know before. Liked it. So let’s see if I can post at least once a week!
Today my pop surrealist art is in two openings and in the paper!!! One is at Lunar Boy Gallery. It’s the Goonies Show, for the 25th anniversary of the movie. There is a big celebration in Astoria, the town where the movie was shot. And it looks like a great pop art show! Already a bunch of pieces of the show have sold!!
